So on new years I slipped and fell on the ice and banged my head pretty bad. Been having strange dreams.
First dream there was a flock of wood peckers attacking me from every direction. I was breaking off their beaks as they came at me to kill them. Second dream there were a flock of owls who were after me. Very strange since owls don't fly in groups. I ran to my old apartment in Taipei, the place where I grew up. And I locked all the balcony doors. I stared at them through the beige cream bars. They were perched on the balcony next to mine staring back. Third dream I'm at CQG in the corner office conference room on the SW side. However instead of being on the 22nd flloor, we're on the 2nd floor. This gigantic rabid looking wolf dog is prowling outside looking for me. I can see his eyes looking at me through the big windows. And I mean this thing is huge, like 15 feet tall, larger than life. He crashes through the windows, and I start running for my life. I'm running through the maze of cubicles and alarms are going off. People are panicking everywhere. I'm terrified. I wake up.
Now last night was a warped dream too. I can't remember all the details. Something about either my grandfather or Nami's grandfather dying. (Hmm I wonder if someone is getting married soon that I know.) And I'm also sitting at a dinner table with Kendra, this person from work I know. The dream keeps going back and forth between this dinner scene and me being harried and emotional about this grandfather who has just died. (Maybe Kendra's getting married?) Anyhoo def weird.
All these recipes require match green tea powder. It's a very potent and flavorful green tea that is very easy to cook with. Best part, they are all so SIMPLE!
GREEN TEA SUSHI:
If you know how to make sushi this one requires no additional skills:
Make sushi rice as you normally would. When you get to the part of folding the rice in the vinegar sugar mixture, make one change. In your sugar vinegar mixture add 1/3 tsp of green tea per cup of uncooked rice. (E.g. if you made3 cups of rice, mix in 1 tsp of green tea.)
GREEN TEA DIP:
Also extremely easy: Mix cream cheese with green tea powder to taste.
GREEN TEA CHICKEN:
Ingredients: chicken, sage, green tea, garlic powder, onion powder, olive oil.
Cut up chicken breasts into 1/2 inch pieces, removing all fat.
Make a mixture of equal parts of green tea powder and sage with olive oil.
(Enough olive oil to coat chicken, so about 4 tablespoons per pound of chicken or so.)
Throw the chicken pieces into a ziploc bag.
Pour oil mixture into bag, and mix and shake until evenly coated.
Throw in fridge for a couple hours for marination.
Remove and fry in wok.
While frying, add in garlic and onion powder to taste.
This chicken can be eaten hot (goes well on a bed of arugala and rice). Or can be eaten cold (room temperature).
Careful not to use too much green tea with this one, it will make it bitter.
I got the most amazing deal for plants today. This guy off of Craigslist was moving to Florida and had a green house full of plants. Unbelievable!
So excited... about my new babies. Got this one aloe plant that is sooo crazy overgrown, needs repotting but got it for a DOLLAR!!
