I had a really strange but accurate dream last night. I was in a building, and it caught on fire somehow and at that time my family, friends and I were all in the basement. It seemed like there was no way out; we were trapped there just waiting for the fire to get to us. Above us we could hear people screaming for help as they burned to death. It seemed that I was the only person who took what was happening seriously. My parents and friends were still joking and laughing, as if they were in denial or oblivious to the fire. I thought 'oh my god I'm going to have to figure out how to get us out of here myself!.' I notice an elevator at the entrance, but also see that it is completely useless. I start breaking the water pipes I see (don't ask me where the came from, it's a dream) and the water level starts rising. Soon we are knee deep in water so cold I think, now we're going to die of hypothermia. It's frigid! But I'm still trying and I finally find a way and get everyone out. I'm telling them to hurry up, to run because I can see and feel the fire coming to devour us. I'm the last one to leave, and as I go, I trip, fall and my foot gets seared (don't as me why I'm barefoot, but I am) and I manage to get out. Before I wake up I remember sitting in wet (and I mean really wet) grass, looking down at my left foot, seeing a chunk where the fire gave me superficial burns.

Now for the interesting part, the analysis. I do analyze dreams a bit, and it's always easier to analyze one's own dreams. Fire is usually a symbol of transition, so this means I'm going through a transition in my life. The basement is a symbol of the subconscious, but it could simply mean that I am withdrawing or hiding from people. Since my friends and family are oblivious, it may mean that I will get no help during my transition from the people I usually count on. They don't understand what it is, or don't care about it. Water is usually a symbol of emotions. The elevator is a symbol of the situation. So at some point during this phase I go through it will get difficult. Rising water indicates rising emotions, however since I find a way out before the water is higher than me, I don't lose total control of them. Finding a way out and landing in grass is an indication of success after much hard work. (Grass symbolizes hard work, planting grass etc.) Getting burned, believe it or not, is a good sign. It's a sign of happiness about a particularly valuable friendship or unexpected triumph.

Cosmic systems intertwine
Astral bodies drip like wine
All of nature ebbs and flows
Comets shoot across the sky
Can't explain the reasons why
This is how creation goes

Hrm. Kathy and Tanvi doin' the astrology thing. Wonder how much truth there really is in all of this stuff. Palmistry, astrology, dreams, numerology, runes, tarot cards, etc. I've always been interested in it, and I've pursued palmistry a little more seriously than any of the others and it has been quite interesting so far. I can be accurate in my readings, and at times I've even been dead on, but I still wonder about its authenticity.
I guess all of it needs to be taken with a grain of salt. But then again, if one has learned exactly how to read these things, they most probably will get accurate results.
Like the astrolabe thing.... I don't know who wrote the descriptions but I don't agree with some of the ones based on the planetary positions. Any astrologer (or good book on astrology actually) will also tell you that what the planets tell is no where near as important as ones sun sign. Ones sun sign characteristics are the biggest influence, then the Moon and Rising. The planets describe different aspects of ones life. Also, the descriptions (I'm quite sure), are not different for each degree that the planet is in, and in actuality it can make a difference. Here's something else that many people don't think of: Was the birth premature? Was it a few days late? That can make a significant difference in the reading as well.
Oh well... just my view... who knows....
The astrolabe thing is pretty good though, especially since it's free. =)
