Same body conscious cooking, just no trip to the grocery store. Stand in your kitchen, and scan everything in your kitchen cupboards. Then stand with the fridge wide open and look at everything in there, until you get cold. As you stare at everything you have, make a recipe using tastes that come to mind.

Today's Recipe
Spicy Peanut Sauce:
Heat pan.
Add 2 gobs of peanut butter.
Add a bit of hot bean paste sauce.
Add some tomato ketchup.
Add some water.
Stir until paste.

with tuna out of a can and pita bread! Yay!

impov cooking
hey there,

eric here (remember me? the integral chef?); i hope you don't mind, but i came across your blog via some kind of strange electronic paper trail (one which i don't remember) and have been reading it here and there. all good?

anyhoo, i enjoyed your thoughts on improvisational cooking. it is the core to building any skill with regards to cooking. it's like doing a black box exam every time that you open the fridge, which, for any cook worth their weight in salt, is a challenge one should always remain open to. i am glad that you enjoy shooting from the culinary hip and would appreciate any more thoughts that you might have on anything "food" .

peanut sauce kiks ass. hip hip hooray.
