Last night I hung with some peeps who really knew their stuff when it came to the power of sound and mantras. Gave me a nice, warm, wooly feeling. Yay! I'm not alone in America! And I woke up this morning and started laughing at something I never realized before...

Part of the reason those damn new agers' mantra chanting is soooo off is because they're missing half the alphabet of pronounciation from their speech! Lol. English has 26 letters, Sanskrit has 54! Hee hee.

Don't be fooled!

Jai Sat-Chit-Ananda!
Hi Pashmina!

Just reviewing your Tribe profile & this entry attracted me. Now I see why! I've been a practitioner of one form of Raja Yoga for some years, with works in Bakhti, Mantra & Gnani. (Of course it wouldn't be the same as that taught overseas but it has brought much ananda.) You're quite right about Sanskrit -- I've always wanted to learn it but have been intimidated by the idea of learning it from books. I've written a long adoration to Ganesha & would like to have it translated into Sanskrit but've no idea where to begin.

Soon we will be hosting several workshops in all creative arts (including the Yogas) at the gallery -- perhaps you may have something to offer or may refer me to some instructors? We're looking for qualified teachers in Hatha , Laya & Kundalini Yoga.

If not even that, still, even a friendly chat with you seems quite inviting :)
