come on! motivation! math kicks butt!! math is awesome!! math lets you prove so many scientific things in this "physical world" of ours... geography is geometry is geography is everything... hehe... ^_^ wee!! 3 cheers for math!
aww...*hugs* i've been having such good days lately... but it's because i'm CHOOSING to make them good days. if i have moods... i find something to cheer me up... i want to live life happier in this frame of mind now. makes things so much easier to get through. =)

how is maths awesome. math doesn't work. only in math is there a perfect circle. where else? in nature, physics, philosophy ,engineering ...- no!

math only lets you prove what you want to prove. you make assumptions then you prove. but what is proof? how can you prove anything? is anything actually true?

Whatever experience has led to a given theory, other surprising experiences reveal its shortcomings. In this way purported Truth becomes fallible opinion; there are no final truths. The opinions of others, even if they seem wrong, reactionary or passe, may represent an honest and considered response to a set of experiences different from our own.

truths are relative

proofs are absolute

there are many truths but none that you can prove.

is 1 + 1 = 2? if yes, then ask 1 what? 1 apple + 1 apple = 2 apples? i don't think so. i have never seen two apple that are the same. or 2 of anything real.

you're trying to apply it to real situations. sure, that's how we use it...

but the NUMBERS itself can just be fascinating to PONDER. =)

Re:
you're right. who knows is anything actually true. but the entire logistics of math and how it works, even if you don't really know where the hell it came from is so interesting... to me at least. =) i mean, why is 1 + 1 always equal to 2? who knows? but somehow in the physical world it seems to always hold "true"... ya, math only lets you prove. and i love proofs. =)

you can't use math to prove things like why do humans have souls? but it's so interesting to use it to prove geometry, trig, etc... ooo... i love geometry and calculus!! ^_^ so what? we're dorks/geeks. it's great! =)
